I’m glad of my purchase of this Barbell Squat Rack. I can now squat more weight as before I had to lift the barbell above my head and since my upper strength is not as great as my lower, it limited the weight I could lift. I also use this in conjunction with my weight bench to perform press exercises. It has allowed me to perform a wider range of exercises with more weight. For the most part, it was easy to set up, even though the the instructions were a small piece of paper. Since I’m used to putting things together myself, I was able to figure it out. However, it would have been helpful to note that you will need a 11/16 ratchet for the bolts. It took about 2 hours to complete (mainly because I have to make sure everything is perfect in my construction).I purchased this type of rack as I live in an upstairs apartment and I wanted to make sure this can be easily transported when I move. For me it is sturdy enough. I will feel more comfortable when it’s on a solid platform besides carpet but since I don’t lift/squat too much (under 90lbs), it has worked just fine. It is easy to adjust the height by removing the lock bar and pulling the knob.I may buy some foam type material from the craft store to place where the barbell lays just to prevent any scratches when it “clanks” down on the bar, but this is my preference. I am highly satisfied with my purchase. And I like how adjustable these are even for the length as I do not have Olympic sized barbells.
