We use this often in my (self owned) gym, though home use would also work. They really do what you would like: remove the risk of floor damage from barbell floor work so that any spot you wish to lift from the floor becomes OK.There is ever so slightly a lift at the lowest setting, so that a deadlift starts maybe a few inches higher than it might if purely off the floor, but this is minor. And standing on any kind of deficit lift – a plate or block etc – will neutralize this. The design is simple but sufficiently sturdy…the belts are of noticeably high quality and really do seem to be good for a few 100kgs drop if your working in that load range. For much heavier than that maybe wait for a power rack… but for 90% of us mortals there is enough resistance to use these safely anywhere for any any lift.Particularly, I like them for clean and press, as this movement really ends with a pretty strong plop on the floor. I wouldn’t advise a really high drop such as a snatch drop, that might be unreasonable, but so long as you guide the bar down you’re good.

I moved the rack parts to the bottom and I like the height. The bottom of full-size plates comes about 2” and 3/4 higher than the ground. Not bad.
