Since my son joined JROTC, he has taken an interest in his physical fitness. We always encourage new interests, but as any parent can tell you such interests can be fleeting. As such, the key to frugal parenting is finding relatively inexpensive and unobtrusive ways to encourage blooming interests, and this product is perfect. He assembled it himself from it’s packaging in just a few minutes; we had it hanging above his doorway in just a few seconds more. While he currently only weighs around 130 lbs., it feels rock solid, which suggests to me it could easily handle more. The material is just heavy-duty enough to get the job done, while being lightweight enough to easily remove and store in a closet when necessary. My son has taken to doing three quick pull-ups each time he passes his door, which means in the months since he’s had it, this chin up bar has already seen hundreds of uses. After such use, it looks and feels brand new. We can’t speak to it’s being good for a heavier or bigger person, but for a trim young man it is perfect. I normally use terms like “for the money”, but in this case I can’t imagine anything working any better at any price. Solid product.

So far this pull up bar has been great for me, especially for the price. I share it with my brother, and I use it everyday. For reference I do between 80 to 150 pull-ups a day, and no signs of breaking so far. The only thing keeping me from rating five stars is the grips. The grips that the bar came with are made of foam and while they aren’t great they didn’t suck either: the bad thing is that they degraded pretty quickly and became kinda painful to use. Especially on top the grips literally wore away to the point that they broke and fell off, so now I have my bar taped for grip that I did myself. Also; the screw tend to come loose a bit once in awhile but I do use it quite a bit. I weigh 180 pounds, and even with me wearing a 30 on backpack on top of my own weight it holds strong. Overall decent budget buy.

This was easy to assemble and not as large as some of the competitors. I bought a similar one that I had to return because it was too wide to fit on any of my doors due to my door frame being too close to a wall and not allowing enough room for how wide the bar was. I like this one better because it’s not as wide & it is a lot lighter and easier for me to hang on door and remove. Even though it is lighter than the one I returned it is still very sturdy.

Easy to assemble. Fits all standard door frame sizes. Just quickly mount, use and dismount. No need to permanently install or drill holes. Sturdy and portable.
