   I purchased this bench to use with a set of dumbbells I had purchased. This is an awesome bench and serves it’s purpose perfectly. I have no complaints with this bench. The quality of the build is excellent. The cushion for the seating and backrest is soft yet durable. There are pegs to place your feet under for leverage which is nice for sit ups. When lifting with 65 lb dumbbells, there is no shake or wobble in the bench at all and this is on carpet. The bench is very solid. An advantage with this bench over others I researched is that it is capable of incline and decline positions, as well as lying perfectly level. I read some comments about the spacing between the seating and backrest but I just don’t see it as an issue in any way. There needs to be some space so the backrest can incline and decline but the space which is about an inch in no way is uncomfortable to sit or lay on. I’m really surprised that this was even brought up in reviews. In addition to the incline and decline functionality, the bench also folds flat like an ironing board to a height of about 9″ at it’s highest point. There’s a handle on one end and wheels on the other so it can be lifted up and wheeled for easy movement or storage. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and due to the awesome quality and engineering of the bench, have purchased a dumbbell rack from Body Solid which I am extremely pleased with as well and have also reviewed.

   It is absolutely amazing the gains you get when working out at home. About a month ago I wanted to be able to lift at home. The problem is I live in 1,000 SF condo downtown, and don’t have a lot of space. I wanted 3 things out of a bench.1) I didn’t want a low quality bench, that squeaked, or swayed while in movement.2) I wanted one that had a small footprint, even when fully erect.3) To be able to fold down so when I entertained I could move it out of the way.Well this bench goes the extra mile on all 3 catagories. It is EXTREMELY well built. Thick metal, that can withstand an enormous amount of weight. Solid welding. The pin handles are nice and large, and they don’t fully pull out so you never have to worry about losing a pin. 2 nice large rollerblading wheels to help roll it where it needs to be, so it won’t scuff up any floor. It doesn’t look huge, even when I have it up my girlfriend hasn’t said a word about it. For a bench it is pretty nice looking.I am 6’1 210lbs, and my girlfriend is 5’4″ 110, and we both have yet to say anything negative about the bench. The lowest setting also does a slight decline as well for those looking for that. The padding on the bench is quite thick, and for some reason the cat sleeps on it non stop:)When folded down I would approximate the height to be around 5 inches. which goes right under my bed, or in the front closet no problem. If you are looking for a bench I have to give this my full recommendation. The bench came fully assembled, and the shipping was very quick. A Comparable bench that I was looking at was the “Bowflex SelectTech Adjustable Bench” The reason I went with this one was – 1) The rollerblade wheels on the are fantastic, and this one folds down. I also thought the SelectTech was a bit of an eye sore. If you have any more questions, send me an email.

   My bench was delivered last night, and I used it for the first time today. I will admit that I have never been a gym rat, so my review might miss things that a hard core lifter might notice.Let me say that I am impressed with the build quality. Solid welded construction, pad material seems thick and well stitched. It was packed with a fair amount of styrofoam and a everything was protected by cellophane, so I couldn’t find a scratch or dent anywhere. And I looked.The material is like a leathery rubbery material, a little different but nice because it has a kind of tacky texture so I don’t slide around. Not sure how it will hold up long-term, but it does seems nice and thick, previous reviewers experienced excellent warranty response in the event it eventually tears.The bench came fully assembled, but it took a few minutes to tear off all the cellophane. It unfolds and folds easily, probably doable with one hand.Let me address the five major concerns people have:1. Gap between the seat and backrest- I don’t see any way you could build a folding AND adjustable bench without the gap. I haven’t found a bench that doesn’t have this issue, and so far it hasn’t bothered me.2. Zipper rubbing leg- That must be an older model, because there is no zipper on the seat or anywhere else for that matter. The end of the seat is completely smooth.3. Defects- mine appears to be defect free.4. Flat seat- I was looking at another bench that had a tilted up seat. The problem with that bench was the seat could not go flat, so when attempting to do any flat lifts, you would only have the length of the backrest to use, and tall people would have their head hanging off the end. My head was almost hanging off the other bench. I figure when you want a folding, adjustable bench you can’t have everything, and this worked best for me. I feel that the tackiness of the material and the ability to put my feet up on the pegs made it perfectly comfortable to do incline work.5. Foot pegs not padded- the foot pegs are wrapped in thin rubber. It would be nice if it was a little thicker, but I prefer it to the giants pads that always roll around and make it hard to hook your feet.
