I’m 175 lbs and it’s sturdy enough for me. I mounted it hanging from a joist, straight down. It creaks a bit for me, so any heavier and you might be pushing it. Mine came with bolts sheared off so it didn’t work for someone, obviously. Mine is semi exposed to the elements so I wasn’t too concerned with it being previously mounted. It’s thin hollow tube but it’s good enough for the price
