The directions were utterly incomprehensible. But i found I didn’t need them. In my lifetime, I have assembled everything from a HeathKit DX-40 transmitter back in the 1950s to bookstands, so perhaps I am advantaged, but,, hey, with only four bolts and preassembled main components, common sense suffices. And the parts were all great and came together to make a really attractive and strong squat stand. I’m sure it can take 550 pounds as advertised, but I would never use more than 150 pounds unless I had some buddies to to spot me. I usually obey Murphy’s Law (If something can go wrong, assume that it will go wrong). As regards the instant choice, the greater the weight the stand will bear provides an extra margin, but that’s no reason to flout Murphy’s Law.

If you are looking for something affordable to get started with that can take a lot of weight but doesn’t cost as much as some of these Olympic-level solutions you find yourself investing in once you start lifting crazy amounts of weight, this is a great place to start.The build quality of the rack is decent enough to take on a good amount of weight. However, eventually, if you plan to bulk out, you’ll be upgrading something a little more intense. Then again, if you only look to tone a bit but nothing crazy, this may last you forever.It comes together pretty easily and most of it you don’t even need instructions for. Which is good since the instructions aren’t 100%. The count of parts vs what you really need/get aren’t exactly accurate. However, you do get what you need and in some cases more than you need (ie, washers).The rubber feet are a little too tight. It makes them look a little funny as you can see from one of the images. Like wearing a t-shirt that is a little too tight on you causing it to pull tight around the arms. They do eventually slide on and they may stretch to fit over time through wear. This doesn’t take any stars away though since it was our only beef with the parts and it is so very minor.The price really isn’t that high as long as it is close to around $100. I don’t think it goes much higher than that as the “normal MSRP” might be inflated to make you feel like you are saving a lot. Assuming it does stay at the lower cost, you are getting a deal.
