This jump rope has worked good for the rough grandkids. First I thought it would not be thick enough,a little too thin so didn’t think it would turn or work that well but it worked fine.

I bought this for my 6-year-old for X-Mas since she was interested in jump rope from trying it at school. She had come across some lame plastic cord jump rope that had no swing or heft to it, so it made it really hard for her to learn how to do it. I trashed that and gave her the “real thing,” which is what I remember using. Handles are a bonus–really all you need is the correct weight on the rope. Well, we have used it a ton since she got it. Just last weekend, we had a jump rope palooza on the basketball court or our local park with 4 6-year-olds, 3 adults, and alot of jump rope rhyming! Every kid loved it, and they were at it for at least 30 minutes straight! Do yourself and your kid a favor and get them a good jump rope like this–it’s a great time for everyone!!I also bought her a single person jump rope, which she was practicing on today when she didn’t have a friend handy. Get both!!

It is easy to adjust the size of the rope. Push the rope up into the handle and cut to your desired length. I took two pairs of pliers to remove the metal click and just tied a knot.The rope really is not all cotton. It is cotton covering a nylon rope, that appears in the cheaper ropes. This is not a 100% cotton rope. Because of the nylon it is not as flexible and a little more stiff.

Great jump rope made of actual rope instead of plastic. When I first searched “jump rope”, all the results that came up were thin, plastic ropes or jump ropes with rope that were really short for children. This jump rope is really long and adjustable in length- you just have to make a knot and cut off the excess. Easy to do criss-cross jumps with. It also doesn’t hurt when the rope hits you, since it’s rope, compared to those thin plastic jump ropes that sting when it hits you.
