This is a good hanger for olympic sized bars. Like most of its competitors, the slot won’t take anything appreciably larger, such as most urethane covered dumbbells. The upturn at the end of the tongues is a bit higher than most, and at 90 degrees, making for a bit more secure containment when used for other purposes, such as hanging tubing and bands.The instructions for its installation are clear and available right on the product page. I especially appreciate that it designates the precise size drill to use for the pilot hole, though that will be different for direct installation into a stud–which I see as the preferred (and in most cases, necessary) means for mounting this. The screw is of good length, but is topped with a head that is formed for a Phillips head driver. Given that an old stud can be quite hard, I find the Phillips interface to be too weak an intercerface and a hex head to be much superior means to drive the screw. To their credit, the include a washer to go under the screw head, making for greater dispersion of the load, and less marring of the bracket as the head is tightened down.Other than that small quibble, which can be easily rectified by substitution of your own hex head bolt, this is a solid choice for its intended application, and as a hanger for other gym equipment.
