Dr. Glen O’Hara II –
I like the product and its sturdiness. I think I will be happy with it. The downsides: Made in foreign country. The installation instructions were not written by a native English speaker, and some of the pictures in the installation instructions are slightly misleading, so I had to figure them out and be patient. I am not using the expansion screws that they provided for direct installation to the wall. Instead, I am installing sturdy plywood to the wall and attaching the mounts to the sturdy plywood. This is what some reviewers are recommending, I think with good reason.

Every once in a while I like to do pullups, leg raises for abs, and dips for triceps. It gets the job done nicely. I also use it to stretch my body like doing a hang off the pull-up bar. It is strong and sturdy. The pads are very comfortable. Just like other people said, do not use the provided screws. I went to the local hardware store and bought lag screws. I used three cut up 2×10 instead of plywood for the backer. I am 220 lbs and this will hold me with ease.

I bought this to replace a self-standing exercise tower to save some space in my home gym. Following what others here have said, I ended up purchasing some 1×6 wood and 3.5 inch lag bolts for the hooks. The lags go through the 1×6 into studs so the wood is really only there for added support and to protect the wall. I’ve seen different methods in other reviews but this seemed like the most straightforward way with minimum materials. As long as your studs are 16 inches on center then the hooks should have enough space to hold the inside of the frame while the bumpers come to rest just an inch or two left and right of where the hooks are mounted.Assembly was pretty easy with the included tools. Just pay close attention to screw lengths as they aren’t all the same. You’ll mostly rely on diagrams and labels so sort the hardware into groups first so you don’t mix up screws “1”, “2”, and “3”.It feels very sturdy compared to the old standalone tower and I’m loving it so far! The unit itself is not that heavy and easy to switch between the two hanging positions. I weigh about 190 and I hardly feel it flex, even when doing dips.
