As far as bars like this go, structurally, this one is quite good; it’s sturdy and well built, with lots of grip choices. There are a few reviewers who have had fit/assembly issues, I suggest that for items like this, you need to assemble loosely till everything is put together and then tighten; otherwise, you’ll run into problems. Why did I ding it a star? The foam padding isn’t great; it’s already coming apart on mine, and I haven’t used it much.

There is some assembly required, but it’s very quick, plus they include the tool required. The first step is to measure the maximum thickness of the doorframe and use that measurement as a guide of what hole to screw the knob into for each part that goes on the top of the doorframe. See the pictures showing the assembly instructions. While I was unpacking the pieces, I didn’t like how they put cardboard tues around two of the padded handles. So be careful removing those so that you don’t cut the padding or scratch the paint of the pull-up bar. I used my folding utility knife and lightly scored the same area on each cardboard tube until I could tear it apart by hand.I had to set this pull-up bar in the doorway of one of my upstairs bathroom as the other doorways would have worked upstairs, but the hallway wall got in the way.I didn’t use the included strap as I have a set of pull-up assisted bands. The included strap is nice and thick with the company branding on it, but it doesn’t say what weight the strap is.Using the pull-up bar is like using any other pull-up bar. I didn’t fold out the handles as I’m not used to using a pull-up bar like that, but I like how the handles fold out the way when not in use.In conclusion, I really like this pull-up bar, and the padded handles are really comfortable and easy to hold on to. I like how there is a dedicated assisted band area on the bar, and even though it isn’t needed, it’s nice that that is an attachment option.
