I bought this for my ankle injury which required icing every 4 -5 hours for 20-5-20 minutes to avoid swelling. Bought this after i got tired off the generic cold packs which constantly slipped from the ankle during the cold therapy. This one helped to keep the icepack at the right place and provide the required amount to icing. Compression makes it icing on the cake
