I purchased this stall bar because of the combination of metal and wood. I think wooden horizontal bars are nicer to the touch, and of course they are easy to replace if they are damaged with simple dowel rods from the hardware store.I am very pleased with this purchase! The construction is simple, solid and the assembly instructions are clear and easy to follow.I read the other review of this item, where the buyer had trouble with the bolts that came with it breaking off. However, I figured that if the bolts that came with it were poor quality, I could get better bolts on Amazon or at the hardware store. When the stall bar came in, however, it turned out that the bolts were ASTM grade A, the equivalent of grade 2, which should be plenty strong enough for this purpose. I had no trouble attaching the stall bar to the wall, though I should note that I used a manual socket wrench instead of a power tool.After the stall bar was mounted, I climbed to the top and rocked around, pushed off the wall, rocked side to side, anything I could think of to loosen it. I’m about 170 lbs, so not what I would call huge, but the stall bar was rock solid, and I have no doubts it would hold up the rated 250 lbs and then some.Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase!
